“Porpes” Photo-Magazine
Step into the intersection of tradition and fashion as our pho- to magazine unveils the captivating fusion of modern fashion inspired by the timeless traditions of Zagorochoria. Immerse yourself in a visual feast that transcends time, where traditional craftsmanship meets avant-garde design, creating a dynamic new Greek aesthetic. Join us in redefining the boundaries of style against the backdrop of Zagorochoria’s scenic beauty, as we showcase a harmonious blend of the past and the present in every stitch and silhouette. Our photo magazine delves into the mesmerising world of modern fashion inspired by the tra- ditions of this enchanting Greek region. A seamless blend of heritage and modern culture, the pages of our visual odyssey reveal a striking synthesis of the past and present.
Bold patterns drawn from the region’s folklore dance across
fabrics, and vibrant hues echo the landscapes that have wit- nessed generations of stories. Each garment becomes a can- vas, telling a tale of the region’s rich history and a bold vision for the future. From meticulously embroidered patterns rem- iniscent of traditional costumes to avant-garde silhouettes inspired by the natural contours of the Zagori landscape, this is more than a fashion spread—it’s a celebration of creative syn- ergy.
The old and the new coalesce in a harmonious dance, where cultural identity is not lost but rather elevated to new heights. Our photo magazine is a visual manifesto, calling for a redef- inition of Greek aesthetics. It’s a movement—an homage to the resilience of tradition and the boundless possibilities of reinvention. Through every image, we invite you to witness the birth of a new Greek aesthetic—one that is both rooted in his- tory and reaching toward a horizon of limitless creative expres- sion.
“Porpes” was my thesis project for the Masters in Design for Art Direction at London College of Communication UAL. I conceived and created a fashion film and an image campaign where I closely curated every step of the process from concept thinking to production and post production. Personally designed and moulded the sculptural wearable pieces and parts of the costumes as well as some jewellery that I made by hand. Furthermore, I was responsible for the styling and set design for each scene. As for the actual shooting, I collaborated with a videographer and a photographer and directed them in order to bring my vision to life. During the post production I edited and colour corrected the film. Regarding the image campaign, I generated the logo, the layout of the photo-book and incorporated it to match the aesthetic of the film, thus it being part of a 360° campaign with multiple outcomes.
